When The Swords Fell Silent (Young Miniatures)
Shortly after I finished the Lewis Gunner, I stumbled across this bust and decided it should be my next project. I started painting this piece in February 2026 and after I was done with his torso I had to put it aside in favor of the Schwimmwagen project.
In June 2026, I finally found the time to get back to it and decided to start all over because I prefer to paint these projects in one go. I also switched out my color palette for this piece and instead of using my regular miniature paints I used high quality artist acrylics for this paintjob. The idea was to create a miniature that has more color depth and more saturation as my previous pieces. The other big topic is the shiny NMM on the armor, of course. I didn’t have a lot of experience with shiny NMM on miniatures but I was familiar with it from my experience in fine art canvas painting. There is so much I could write about this miniature but I guess watching the YouTube video will give you and even deeper insight.
