Non Metallic Metal Basics

Painting NMM (non-metallic metal) is one of the most discussed topics in miniature painting. And while it is deemed to be very complex, it doesn’t have to be!

In this workshop we’ll dip our toes into the vast NMM sea. We’ll discuss the basic principles needed to paint great NMM and then apply them directly onto a miniature I created specifically for this workshop.

We’ll talk about light and dark areas on metallic surfaces, which colors to use and how reflections work. For this, we’ll focus on NMM steel. While the concepts are the same for all kinds of metal, steel keeps things a bit more simple when it comes to the actual colors.

Whether you’re a beginner or you already have some experience with NMM, this workshop will help you to dive deeper into the topic and to start painting realistic looking metal on small and large scale miniatures.

This workshop includes a high-quality resin bust, a matching display plinth and all the materials you’ll need during the workshop.

I will also provide you with a complete guide for the model. This allows you to finish the bust to perfection at home and at your own pace after the workshop.

At the end of this workshop, I will take professional pictures of your miniature so you can show it off on your socials or in your local scale modelling group.

This workshop includes:

  •  A high-quality resin miniature
  • A wooden display plinth
  • Brushes, wet palette and paints needed to paint this miniature
  • A painting guide for the provided miniature
  • A 6h workshop in a small group with no more than 10 participants
